Many people pray of the day they could draw thatlucky ticket and win that million dollar lottery that would changetheir life. What many people do not realize is that the fact that they arecomfortably reading this email means that they have been luckyenough to be one of the few winners of the biggest lottery of all... the lottery of life!
They were lucky enough to draw the 'right ticket' and be born where they are.
Imagine that 24 hours before you were born, God gave you a bowl of100 tickets.
You had to draw one ticket that would determine your sex, country of birth, wealth, intelligence etc.. What would have been your chance to end up where you are now?
Let's look at the odds.

If you were to take the entire earth'spopulation and shrink it to 100 people (represented by 100 tickets), with all existing human ratios the same, it would be madeup of the following:

49 would be female, 51 would be male
80 would live in substandard housing.
20 in acceptable housing.
67 would be unable to read.
33 would be literate.
1 would have a university education.
99 would not be able to attend university.
50 would be malnourished and 1 dying of starvation.
33 would be without access to a safe water supply.
16 would have access to the Internet.
17 would live in a developed country.
83 live in underdeveloped/developing countries.
If you were given the chance to turn back time and go back to 24hours before you were born, would you choose to return your currentticket and re-draw a new ticket from the 100 again? When I decided that my children and my wife were more important than letting one bad day ruin all of my Christmas's, the spirit came back to me. Yesterday and today have proven to me that I can miss my Mom, but I don't have to miss life at the same time.
To all my friends and family, I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a new year filled with forgiveness, enlightenment and wonderful memories.
May God bless you all.

What is Christmas about?

...It's not about trees and lights, nor spending money and giving and getting presents. It's not about Meatballs and Ham or even mashed potatoes and peas. It is about spending time with family, hugging children and seeing the magic in the eyes of the littlest ones. It is about the memories of past Christmas's and departed family members and friends. But most of all It is about JESUS. Let's remember why we celebrate this holiday. Let's help remind the children, both young and old, just what the REAL reason is.
There is no better gift that I as a Husband, Father and Grandfather could receive than the gift of my entire family being together this Christmas. This is a lot for me to write in one sitting.

One of my favorite movies is Forrest Gump. Here's a guy who didn't know hewasn't supposed to achieve greatly. He just did it. He ran across the country, played ping pong at a world championship level, saved his friends from certain death in a jungle of Vietnam, and disassembled his rifle in record time just to name a few of his achievements. He was not “smart” enough to know that normal humans can't achieve these things. We are all programmed in our youth to know our general direction in life and our limits. Nobody says to us "You will be a lawyer and make $100,000 per year." Or "You will be a carpenter and make $50,000 per year."
Through a series of experiences and information we receive from our parents and others, we form a subconscious image of what we should be, how much money we are worthy of earning, how attractive we are (and therefore how attractive our mate should be), etc. If at any time we are “threatened” with achieving beyond our subconscious boundaries in any of these areas, sabotage kicks in to bring us back in line. This happens so that we don't get hurt. So that we don't feel the pain of being uncomfortable, of being in the unknown, of violating our programming. This is something that I am quite familiar with.Sabotage is designed to protect us. To keep us safe. It's also designed to punish us when we violate the programming of our parents, etc. It sends us to our rooms because we were “bad”, it takes away our playmates because we were “bad” it doesn't give us our allowance because we were “bad” We are living as children and thinking we are in control of everything, yet we are still being punished. So we have the aspect of sabotage that punishes us andthe aspect that protects us by keeping us in the safe zone. Think about it, if you earned more money you might be expected to maintain that level of achievement and this could make your life uneasy. So you quit your high paying job "because it's too corporate" or lose money in Las Vegas on a regular basis "because it's fun to gamble, but the house always wins." (I have a friend at work that does this to himself regularly). If you lost all that weight, you may attract attention from the opposite sex, which in the past has lead to problems. So you binge "just a few times a week because that's not overdoing it." If you stopped smoking, you would have to deal with those feelings of anxiety that led you to smoke. So you smoke "because this is a really stressful time. Next month will be a better time to stop." Hmm sound like anyone you know? (Maybe me)? You come up with some logical reason for your sabotage and then you go ahead and sabotage yourself. What is really going on is that we are going back to where we feel we belong, where we are comfortable, where we feel we deserve to be. It's like the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." If we are running a sabotage program in our mind, we will get to that water, but not allow our self’s to drink. We will subconsciously destroy our chances of having success in that situation so that we can remain where we felt safe or feel we deserve to be. I sure wish I would have learned this lesson 40 years ago.I am finding that hypnosis offers an easy solution to all of this. It reprograms our minds to eliminate those barriers. Those who think they cannot be hypnotized or that they are “smarter” than that need only to look around. Everything in their lives is due to hypnosis -- everything: their mate, their lack of a mate, their car, the amount and type of assets in their portfolio or retirement account, their debt, their job, their friends, everything. We are all programmed to gravitate toward certain situations and people and to accept them in their lives. If we want to change any part of our lives, we must first prepare our minds to accept the change, otherwise we will go right back to where we are pre- programmed to go, where we feel safe, where we feel we belong. Why do some people work really hard for a college degree and stop right before they get it? Things come up, they get married, they get busy at work, and they run out of money. Nonsense. If you really want something and feel you are worthy of it, you will find a way to get it. What really happens is that their programming kicks in and they stop because they are about to exceed a pre-set limit. Why do some people get engaged several times but never married? Oftenit is because they are pre- programmed to sabotage marriage to avoid pain. Perhaps they saw their mother suffer through an abusive marriage and their mind programmed them to avoid that pain. So they choose a potential mate that subconsciously they know will not work out, or they simply back out of the situation or they begin engaging in a series of actions devised by their subconscious mind to undo the relationship. (Any one come to mind on this one)?Sabotage is not you working against yourself; it is you trying to keep yourself safe. The problem is that when we get a bit older and want certain things consciously, we are subconsciously programmed not to have those things. That's where hypnosis can help. The subconscious mind can be reprogrammed. Rather than just deciding to allow more money, better health, etc. into our lives, it is infinitely more powerful to reprogram yourself on a subconscious level, to delete the outdated programming and allow the updated programming in. If you are running Windows 95 on your computer, you need to update to the current version. You don't get there by wishing it to be so, or acting as if it is so, you get there by eliminating the obsolete parts of the old Windows program and adding the latest, most powerful Windows technology. This is how your mental computer works, too -- you must reprogram to move ahead in your life. Take to heart a lesson from Forrest Gump. You can become unaware of your “boundaries” and surpass them. Your abilities are limitless. Once you remember to forget your imagined boundaries, you are free.

I have been studying hypnosis for close to a year now. No, I haven’t been very vocal about it. I knew you would laugh at me; or me at me, for thinking I could learn more. (Does this sound like anything from what I said above?) In fact I am working toward my goal of becoming a certified hypnotherapist. Remember what I have said “Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the further into you get, the faster it goes”. I have decided to change my limiting believes before I run out of “toilet paper”.
My Love to you all,
Pappy

Believe it or not I am finally into the digital age. "In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.... We have room for but one language here, and that i s the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard
tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc. are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract . Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice , whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IPA, Flor-ssence , Essay, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, Fas, etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

(PLEASE FORWARD IT TO PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT)

CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL, U S - PLEASE R EAD

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.

Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.

Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.

Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers.

This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Wa re, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out, that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

3-8-2008

While grandma Mary was taking care of Edwin for Diana, Brian, Anthony and I took a quick trip to the "Sun coast Cruisers" annual "Back to the Beach" car show, held at the Kure Beach USAF recreation area. The morning started out VERY poorly with rain and fairly low temps (for here they were low) and lots and lots of wind. By noon the rain had stopped, the clouds cleared off and the sun came out. Temps even went up to about 60. The wind didn't let up. Oh well... can't have it all.

Anyway we "boys" had a good time looking at the cars, seeing friends and doing some wishful thinking about really "cool" cars. (Hey, everyone can’t be the life of the party!)
First we should explain why a knife cuts in the first place. If you look at the blade under a microscope, you’ll see that even non-serrated knives have tiny “teeth” along the cutting edge. As you use the knife, those teeth gradually curve and bend.
Chopping or slicing on hard surfaces (like countertops or china plates) causes the knife to dull faster, as does cutting frozen meat or hard vegetables like carrots.
Conscientious chefs keep a honing steel handy and draw the blade across the entire length of it several times on each side before they begin slicing. A honing steel won’t technically sharpen a knife, but keeps it from getting too dull too quickly. Dull knives can be sharpened by using a whet stone, but it’s best to let a professional handle the job.
By the way, more kitchen injuries are caused by dull knives than by sharp ones. We have to cut more aggressively and apply more pressure when using a dull blade, so when a flesh wound occurs, it’s usually deeper and more ragged than the clean, paper-cut-type slice of a sharp blade.

My political stand

AMERICA Needs A Leader Like This!!
per Prime Minister John Howard -
Australia Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

Quote: ' IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.' ? ' This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom' ' We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!' ' Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.' ' We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.
' ' This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ' THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' ' If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.' Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

?????????????

I don't know how the AT & Mainly because I don't have much to share that is original. Katie and Diana pretty much cover the pictures and the news of the kids and I just try to throw a few words out every once in awhile.
Mary & I went to hear a speaker at church last night, Dr. Paul Covington spoke on the history of the begining of the catholic (and Catholic) church. Readings from Timothy, and others, that refered back to before the New Testament was written. Extremly interesting and eye opening.
We also had supper with Diana and Edwin tonight. Even after my being around my own children our oldest Grandson Anthony and dozens and dozens of other children, I am so amazed at how Edwin is progressing. And, of course, he loves it when I sing to him. :-) I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Speaking of family, David and Jenny fly into Myrtle Beach tomorrow night to be here for Thanksgiving. They will spend Tuesday night with Diana, Ed and Edwin in Supply, NC and then come up to Wilmington on Wednesday. I haven't seen Dave and Jenny since last Christmas. I do miss them so much.
Some of you may understand this next comment, and some may not. However those that know will understand.
In all families, and between people, there will be times of misunderstanding, conflict and disapoinments. This Holdiay season I want to remind myself and all others that there is nothing that we can not work through with the guidance of Jesus. Forgiveness, understanding and being thankful go a long long way. We all make mistakes and we are all forgiven by God.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I will.
God bless you all.
Love,
Pappy

A weekend away

Mary and I took a trip this past weekend to the foot hills of the Smokey Mts. (yes dear friends and family I still use film)

Here is Anthony playing at his first t-ball game. He got a hit and even scored a run. "T-bone" has come so very far from hisfirst day at practise where he didn't understand the game at all. I think he is going to turn out to be a very good player.

For those that don't know, Mary was in Minnesota for a week visiting her Mother, Aunt Hazel and the rest of the "fam". Drama....such drama. anyway, Mary got to spend some time with David and Jenny. Oh, and Otis too. The Dobo's came from Duluth to Dave and Jenny's house for a bit of conversation and laughter.

As for me, I stayed here at the beachworked on the house and enjoyed my Girls and my Grandson's. God is good.

I tried to add a few pictures here at the end of the blog, but alas, I couldn't figure it out, so I will post a few more pictures on an additional post.

Love to all,

Pappy

"Tewssss - day"

"Hollow of His Hands"

This is a non-doctored picture... (pee on everything tomorrow's Saturday)
It's actually been a very good week. I got to take care of Edwin on Wednesday night while Diana went out with her "peeps" from work. Hey.. a free meal is a free meal. And besides, Diana brought home a wonderful chocolate dessert to share with ME !!!!!!!!!! She loves me :-)
Thursday night Mary & I went out for ribs with Anthony and his parents. (Just kidding Katie). So Dr Lloyd fixed what he could after 2 days and made the beast run again. Hurray... Then couldn't sleep, so I tossed and turned and kept Mary awake all night too... Anthony got sick.. poor little guy just didn't do much with that fever. Hey it's Friday... shit.. the battery died on the Olds.... Oh well.... it's only money. :-) (but I did find a really good Japanese deli).
Went out for a Friday night sandwich with Diana and Edwin. We wanted Katie, Brian and Anthony to come along with us, Anthony is still not 100%, so he wanted to stay home. It just breaks my heart when he doesn't feel well.
No more TGIF.. now its POETS (piss on everything tomorrow's Saturday)
But hey... Especially getting paid for taking the day off. Believe it or not, this is my first paid holiday in about 4 years. That might not be a big deal to you, but it is to me.
Friday night we got to watch Anthony in his first T-Ball practice. Poor little guy got bonked on the head once with the ball, and once in the mouth. Rather traumatic for a 4 1/2 year old. Saturday Katie and Brian went and bought Anthony a helmet. Smart...very smart.
It looks like Momma Mary will be headed to Minnesota near the end of September to visit G.Grandma Louise and Aunt Hazel. I am glad that she is making the trip. She will get a chance to spend some time with Dave & Jenny too. A person never knows when they will get called, and speaking from experience, you don't want to regret not seeing the family when you can.
I sure hope Mary, Mom, Grandma, has let everyone know about this so I am not spilling the beans. I've never been known to do that before. :-)
Anyway.. Brian might have found a way to create a sales web site that would have a very resonable cost to sell my products on line.
